Partnering & Innovation Adviser

You will be a business and partnering coach, mentor, critical friend and champion to a portfolio of innovative start up clients. You will support them on their journey to growing their business to enable further investment and take steps towards becoming a high growth business of the future. In addition, you will work with high growth clients to provide tailored support to encourage international collaboration and partnering that will help businesses enter new markets.

About the Role

You will be a business and partnering coach, mentor, critical friend and champion to a portfolio of innovative start up clients. You will support them on their journey to growing their business to enable further investment and take steps towards becoming a high growth business of the future. In addition, you will work with high growth clients to provide tailored support to encourage international collaboration and partnering that will help businesses enter new markets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Connecting companies to the right complementary innovation and internationalisation services and other forms of support
  • Account managing a portfolio of clients to engage in IUK Business Growth partnering services including the publication of profiles and their participation in international programmes and brokerage events
  • Delivering meaningful and impactful Partnering Agreements (PAs) and Advisory Outcomes (ASs) to innovating growth capable SMEs
  • Using holistic analysis tools, assessing and understanding the specific needs of clients and supporting them effectively
  • Providing robust advice to a portfolio of innovative start up clients by establishing facts, weighing up pros and cons, examining consequences, and then delivering on the agreed action plan

About you

We are looking for someone with business experience within a growth business environment. In addition, you will have:

  • active listening skills, with non-confrontational challenging of business assessment
  • experience of international collaboration and partnering in global markets
  • capability of being a combination of coach, mentor, critical friend and champion to start up clients
  • ability to understand and communicate the key business issues affecting profitability and growth, along with the factors leading to success in commercialising innovative ideas
  • ability to gain and hold the respect of business owners and senior staff in innovative growing businesses
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and use own initiative/self-motivation

What do we offer?

This is a full time, permanent position with an expectation of some UK and occasional European travel. While we operate in a remote first environment, you do need to live within easy commutable distance from our head office in Hatfield, or elsewhere as required, where we meet as a team and to collaborate with others across the business.

  • We are more interested in finding the right person but we are loosely looking in the region of £37,870 – £48,551pa FTE
