Hertfordshire County Council and Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership successfully secured £3.26m funding for five projects via the £220m UK Community Renewal Fund. The fund will contribute to the levelling up agenda by investing in people, places, businesses, and communities improving everyday life across the UK.

The Government has announced that England will fully return to Plan A on Thursday 27th January after the success of the booster programme. On 8th December 2021, the country moved to Plan B following the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. The measures introduced late last year helped to control the spread of COVID-19 and strengthened defences.

On Wednesday 27th October, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak delivered his Autumn Budget and Spending Review, beginning his speech with “Employment is up, investment is growing, public services are improving, public finances are stabilising, and wages are rising.”
